Therapeutic Exercises
Individually prescribed exercise to restore strength, mobility, control and confidence.
What this treatment is, and how it works
Therapeutic exercise is the most evidence-based component of physiotherapy. It rebuilds the strength, mobility and motor control your tissues lost to pain, injury or rest.
Every prescription is individual — sets, reps, range and load are chosen for your stage of healing, not pulled from a generic handout.
Conditions it commonly addresses
- Strength and conditioning following injury or surgery
- Restoring range of motion in stiff joints
- Postural endurance for desk-based and standing workers
- Knee, hip and ankle stability for walking, sport and stairs
- Shoulder rehabilitation after rotator cuff issues or surgery
- Core control for low-back and pelvic conditions
What we do, step by step
- Movement BaselineWe establish what you can do today — strength, range, control, endurance.
- Goal SettingGoals are tied to function: a pain-free walk, a full squat, returning to your sport.
- Programme DesignExercises chosen for tissue stage, your home setup and the time you can give.
- CoachingForm, breath and tempo are coached in person before you go solo.
- ProgressionLoad, range and complexity are increased every 1–2 weeks as you adapt.
In a session
Sessions blend supervised exercise with hands-on input. Expect controlled effort, not exhaustion. A short home programme (10–20 minutes, 3–5 days a week) is part of every plan.
Recommended sessions
Typically 6–12 sessions over 4–10 weeks, depending on the goal. Maintenance is your responsibility — we teach you so you do not need us forever.
Who should avoid this
Acutely unstable injuries before they have been cleared for loading. Otherwise, exercise is for almost everyone — the dose is what changes.
What you can expect from our team
- Programmes are progressed, not repeated week after week
- Home exercises are kept short and realistic, not a 20-item PDF
- Strength training is taught with proper form, not avoided as 'too much'
