Musculoskeletal / Orthopaedic Physiotherapy
The clinic's core stream — assessment and treatment of bone, joint, muscle, tendon and nerve conditions.
What this treatment is, and how it works
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy is the clinic's largest stream and the lead clinician's master's specialisation (MPT-MSK). It covers conditions of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and peripheral nerves.
Whether the problem is a stiff neck, a disc irritation, a painful shoulder, an arthritic knee or recovery after a fracture, the method is the same: assess precisely, treat the actual source, and load the tissue back to capacity.
Conditions it commonly addresses
- Neck, mid-back and low-back pain, including disc-related and nerve-root pain
- Cervical and lumbar spondylosis
- Frozen shoulder, rotator cuff conditions and shoulder impingement
- Knee osteoarthritis, patellofemoral pain and meniscal irritation
- Hip osteoarthritis and greater trochanteric pain
- Tennis elbow, golfer's elbow and wrist tendon conditions
- Post-fracture stiffness and post-surgical restriction
- Sacroiliac joint and coccyx pain
What we do, step by step
- Detailed AssessmentHistory, posture, joint range, strength, neurological screen and special tests specific to the region.
- Diagnosis ExplainedFindings are shown to you in plain language, with the anatomy drawn out if it helps.
- Hands-On TreatmentManual therapy, dry needling, cupping, taping or therapeutic modalities — chosen for the finding.
- Loading ProgrammeProgressive strength and mobility work to rebuild the tissue's actual capacity.
- Objective ReviewThe same measures are repeated every 4–6 sessions so progress is proven, not assumed.
In a session
A first visit runs 45–60 minutes; follow-ups 30–45 minutes. Expect hands-on treatment paired with active exercise from the very first session.
Recommended sessions
Most musculoskeletal conditions respond within 4–8 sessions. Longer-standing or post-surgical cases run 8–16 sessions with periodic review.
Who should avoid this
Undiagnosed red-flag symptoms — unexplained weight loss, night pain with fever, progressive neurological loss, or recent significant trauma. We screen for these and refer onward where needed.
